New idea for end cap

3 posts in this topic

Well I came up with an idea that Im pretty happy with.

Probably been done before but none the less thought Id should share it with you all. Yesterday I read somewhere in here that someone had a cap on their siphon that was transparent so they could watch the process at work. Well today I needed an end cap for my new siphon. Not having the right size and not feeling like going to Bunnings, I thought id improvise till Monday. So I covered the end with glad wrap (cling wrap) . To my surprise it worked a treat and also allowed me to watch the siphon in action as the water slowly trickles over the top then builds momentum and develops into a swirling motion and then finally kicks into full gear.:o

great idea for a quick fix..

try looking for "pvc test caps" - much cheaper than regular caps.

Orange test caps are cheap and if you don't glue it on they are removable, However on my first siphon I had to glue the cap to stop the air from breaking siphon
