  1. Greetings from Santa Clarita, California, I just found out about aquaponics about 2 weeks ago and I have been bit hard with the aquaponics bug. I live in an apartment right now with little sun light and no balcony, so I wanted to make a small indoor system. I currently have a 10 gallon fish tank with a 15 quart grow bed. I made it an ebb and flow system, draining with a bell siphon. My pump is a 40 gallon an hour pump. I built a small shelf so i can hang an adjustable grow light. The shelf i made big enough to upgrade both the fish tank and the grow bed, but not by much. I did have several questions as I continue this process: -With the bell siphon constantly pumping water, it only takes about 4 minutes for my growbed to fill up, is that too constant of a flooding for the roots? Will I drown the plant roots? -How is the beneficial bacteria introduced to the system? -What are some problems that I might have running on such a small scale? I'm sure I will have a thousand more questions as time goes on, but until that time I will thankfully wait for your input. Here is a picture (if I can figure it out):
  2. Hi, I'm Erik from San Angelo, TX. I can't wait to soak up as much knowledge as I can. And hopefully I'll start building my system within the month.
