I am a retired Air Force officer. My wife and I have built a 24x48 greenhouse in which we are building an aquaponics system. We have a 460 gal fish tank, 4 3x8 media beds, 2 3x16 float beds, and hope to incorporate vertical towers once the system becomes operational.

  1. I am a retired Air Force officer and a brand spanking new farmer. My wife and I have built a 24x48 greenhouse which will house our aquaponics system. I have a 460 gal fish tank, 4 - 3x8 media beds, 2 - 3x16 foor raft beds, and (hopefully once the system is operational and stable) a set of vertical towers. I have built the beds and am ready to plumb and line them. To that end I have a couple of questions I hope someone here can help with. 1) I have read somewhere that there is a pump that can feed multiple lines in sequence(or something like that) but for the life of me I can't remember what it was called. Any help there would be appreciated because I have to figure out how to get water to all my beds (in sequence or at the same time). I do have a 700gph pump ready to go. 2) I thought I would use an overflow drain on the raft beds to let the water go back to the sump, but I don't know how to do that since the float beds are below (height wise) the sump tank. 3) I was going to use either a rocket mass heater or a rocket mass heater/ barrel heater hybrid to heat my greenhouse. Again, any help, advise, or words of wisdom here would be appreciated. Thanks. Mike
